Structural Engineer

We are currently seeking a structural engineer with experience in the design, detailing, and fabrication of electric overhead traveling cranes and crane runway systems. Responsibilities will include the design of electric overhead crane structures, crane runway systems both as an integrated part of industrial buildings and freestanding structures, monorail systems and jib crane structures and foundation systems. Will evaluate existing cranes and crane support systems in the context of capacity increases and/or duty cycle changes. Will also participate in structural inspections and direct the remediation of existing crane runway systems and affected building structures.

This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with customers, internal and external sales professionals, service technicians, and manufacturing associates. Building and maintaining good relationships with customers, contractors and other outside entities is expected.

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university along with licensure as a Professional Engineer in the state(s) of Pennsylvania and/or Ohio is required. This position requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

The ideal candidate will be experienced with the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) specifications, the Crane Manufactures Association of America (CMAA) specifications, the American Welding Society (AWS) specifications, the International Building Code (IBC), and the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) mill building guidelines.

Experience with AutoCAD 2010, capability with an appropriate structural analysis software package, and thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
